Nigeria's Apex court, the Supreme court, has barred the National
Assembly from taking further steps towards amending the 1999
constitution. Delivering its Judgement today May 7th, the seven man
panel of justices led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud
Mohammed directed the National Assembly members to maintain status quo
on the matter until June 18 for further hearing.
